I've created a video in Adobe Premiere and exported to a Microsoft DV avi file (In Windows). However, I can't get it to play on a MAC. I am trying to use iDVD to burn the video. What's worse is, I've converted the video into MPEG2 format for DVD and it won't import that either.
Can someone help me with the require codec or conversion for my DV file? I perfer not to reencode, juts so I don't lose any more quality.
BTW - I downloaded Canopus DV file converter but the converted file doesn't work either. In both (CDVC and DVCV) I can only hear the audio, no picture.
Also, please let me know if this isn't the correct forum section. Thanks!

Premiere ought to be able to already export MOV files directly (whether Pro is installed or not--as long as QT is installed). Render as DV-NTSC .MOV. Should work easily.

My bad... I didn't have Quicktime installed. However, now I have another problem. When I export via quicktime it doesn't maintain my aspect ratio. I've created a 16:9 720x480 video, and even though I've selected that (in various different ways) the video is exported to 4:3 and looks like crap.
When I export with Microsoft DV AVI it is the correct size.
Also, I really had to play with the settings to maintain the quality, then I ended up with a huge file.
8min video in MS DV AVI is 1.8GB - IN quicktime it is over 3GB. -
You must be doing something else wrong with the size/etc setup...
If your MS DV AVI is type 1, the difference between it and a type2 AVI (and a DV MOV, which is basically equal in size to a type2 as it has similar internal structure, just different container/headers) is only ~87MB for an 8min. clip.
Post what your QT settings are.
