I just purchased the Apex AD-1200 DVD player which is not supposed to be connected to a TV-VCR because of Macrovision, according to the manual. If I connect the DVD player to my regular TV and disable Macrovision using the "hack," will the player connect to my TV-VCR?

Yes, provided that you have an older 1200 that actually allows the MV to be disabled.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -
Thankfully, I was able to connect the AD-1200 with the TV-VCR, but, strangely, I still had to use an RF Modulator to get it to connect, even though there are jacks for the red, white and yellow audio/video cords. Bizarre.
