    i am trying to convert avi to mpeg using tmpgenc and i keep getting an error message that says unsupported file. is there another software that can covert these files or am i doing something wrong?

    Download and install the Nimo codec pack, this has most codec's needed. Also check its not a www.divx.com (DivX 5)

    You may also need the fake codec, for the fake movies
