  1. I don't know what else to do!!!

I've been trying to burn my first DVD test project, but I simply can't burn a DVD that will play anywhere else other than the PC where it was burned. Would you guys give me some help? Please!!

    Here's what I've done:

    1. I have 4 MPEG2 video clips (4 mp2 files and 4 wav files), generated by premiere 6 using an PMEG2 Pinnacle codec, I believe.

    2. Then I created my DVD menu screens and buttons in Photoshop, and imported everything into ReelDVD. Dragged and dropped the links and media flow. Performed some internal testing, which worked fine, and created the Video_ts folder.

    3. In Nero, I chose erase ReWritable to "prepare" the media. Then opened a new DVD-video project, imported my video_TS folder and burned the disk.

My DVD burner is a Philips DVD+RW-D01, and I can only burn DVD plus RW. After the DVD is ready, it plays just fine on the PC where it was created, but nowhere else!!! I'd like it to run on DVD drives and alto regular players.

    What am I doing wrong?

Also, where do I select the playback region for my DVD?

    Thanks for the help!

  2. First you have to verify that your DVD Player indeed can play DVD+RW check compatibility list here at VCDhelp.com and other sites. Compatibility for DVD +/- RW is anywhere between 35-45% which is not very high unfortunately. This is due to the reflectivity of the media. The other formats DVD+/- R have almost twice the reflectivity of the RW's and therefore are easier "read" by most DVD players.

Because ReelDVD is a semi-pro DVD authoring program it may be dufficult to get much help (most people use less expensive software). In addition to your posts here you might want to try the various Creative Cow Forums (Funny Name ??)

  3. I'm a regular ReelDVD user. It's my guess you've got a media or player issue. Every set-top player is different and some cheaper DVD blanks have a MUCH mower sucess rate. I'd stick to name brands... Maxell, Verbatim, etc...
