  1. Capturing hi-bitrate MPEG, demuxing and using DVD2AVI. Just tried Pulldown Removal in MMC 7.5 with Forced Film in DVD2AVI. This seems to effectively IVTC the clip, I have been using AVISYNTH with the IVTC plug-in, which was 50% slower.

Anybody else using this? How about any other ATI Hi-Bitrate MPEG capture people, there apparently aren't many of us, share your tricks!

  2. I use MMC for most of my captures, and it's actually quite good.
I prefer MMC 7.7, however, since it has support for interlaced captures.

  3. I thought all MMC 7.x supported interlacing? Are you PAL or NTSC?

My NTSC 704x480 MPG2 caps are certainly interlaced. Most are Telecined, and I was trying the 3:2 removal tool in MMc 7.6, but I forgot I set to 352x240 for this capture. Resulted in repeating 4th and 5th frames, which Decimate removed. Tried again @ 720x480, no effect from the removal tool. Back to the old IVTC.

How high do you set your bitrates and IBPB? I do I-frame only, 12Mbit, 672x448, cause I think it looks best, no frame drops, demux and re-encode @352x480, around 1800 to 2200 avg. Was testing Swordfish by switching back and forth from Dig Cable to CVD copy, Perfect.
