  1. Hi, i just bought a pioneer a04 drive. havent installed it yet, but reading up about the region settings, it says it will allow me to change region settings 5 times before it locks... is there any way to change that? i know with some dvdroms you could flash the bios.

i dont intend to use this drive to actually play dvds but only to burn them. how will region settings affect that. like if i put one of my region 1 or region 4 dvds onto my pc and burn it to dvd will it keep its region setting, and will the burner need to be set to the same region setting??

please forgive any ignorance, im an utter n00b when it comes to dvd-r stuff.. no idea at all

  2. Pioneer DOES NOT burn anything other than files to general use DVD-R.
The region setting isn't recorded, nor is macrovision, nor is CSS.
Any DVD-R will be region free and non macro and non CSS.

However, if you want the drive to play back region encoded movies, then the correct region must be enabled in the drive.
