I want to achieve what is for me the ultimate conversion. I want to do it no matter how many intermediate conversions are necessary. And I want to do it on the only computer I now own.

Using nothing but Mac tools and programs, can you please help by telling me how to convert a wmv file to a Quicktime file?

So gifted we are to be here when all seems possible, so I'm encouraged to believe there is some way for me to do this extraordinary conversion.
