Is £249.99 the cheapest you can get this drive?
If lower, where?

try esbuy.com
At current exchange rate, it should be less than 200 pounds, since they are down to only US$254.
They are reliable also.-MPB/AZ -
Thanks for that.
But I would perfer to buy in the UK and have no nasty surprises from Customs.

Scan have them on offer today at £245 including a pack of 10 Memorex blanks and a copy of Nero.

Cheers .... -
I just hope if you buy it from Scan that you never have to send it back. They're not exactly geared up for after-sales service, if you know what I mean
If it says £245 on their site, it's £245+£10 postage+VAT=£299.
bigpockets.co.uk advertise it at £244.99 inc. VAT and 1-2 day delivery for £5.00. My experience of their 1-2 day delivery promise is "you get it when we send it and shut up". -
I couldn't remember who I got mine from but I just checked - Refresh (www.refreshcomputers.com). 3 months ago I paid over £300 for it - now it's £199 plus VAT barebones. Add £10+VAT delivery and it's £245.50. They delivered when they said they would, I like that.

www.blankdiscshop.co.uk have them for £244.99 inc VAT, this is without any software (add £4.99 for Nero). Their service is superb, they always deliver on time and the postage is about £5-7 for next day.
And no I don't work for them -
Yeah but he wants to wait 6 months before they come down to under £200...

Hope this is of some use

you can check the web site, theres no obligation to buy, the question was where can i buy them cheaper, this company does sell them cheaper. I am not aware of the auction feedbacks but since you mentioned it i will have a look. Not had any problems myself though

I found this ad in another forum. I don't know who they are, haven't dealt with them so can't recommend them, but it's the cheapest I've seen at £229 inc VAT:

If i get too many problems with mine i will sell it, guess it works but it must be the operator not knowing what to do, guess it would help if they sent instructions how to work them when you buy them rather than just installation instructionsIts tough when it gets complicated but keep at it to get results -
David,
The Scan offer was on their 'today only' page, but, having read it properly, the £245 was ex vat! .... sorry about that.
Scan also do have a bit of a 'returns' reputation as someone else pointed out. Not so much of a problem for me as I live fifteen minutes drive away and can go and 'thump the desk'.Looks like SVP might be your best bet.
Cheers .... -
Lynxdv are doing a great deal for either a barebones OEM or for not much more you get 17 blanks, Ulead DVD Factory, Cyberlink Power DVD and Nero all for £246 +VAT. The S?W bundle and media makes this one of the best price in UK. I'm thinking of going for it myself but I am still unsure of the +RW Vs -RW conflict !

Hi Everyone,
Cool site, (my first posting).
Just seen the player at http://www.bigpockets.co.uk/ for £199 :P

Esbuy is as reliable as s**t. Won't ever buy again. When I bought they overcharged the shipping costs by $30 and shipped a week after they had received payment - when the drive was fallen in price already by $30
screw them...
