  1. I DOWNLOADED A 50 FILE DVD RIP DIVX MOVIE JOHN Q. EXTRACTED WITH WINRAR TO AN AVI. WHEN I WATCHED IT ON MEDIA PLAYER THE PICTURE WAS PERFECT BUT NO SOUND AND I NOTICED MOVIE WAS SORT OF IN A SLOW MOTION FRAME BY FRAME MODE. WENT TO DIVX FIX DIDNT HELP AT ALL. I WAS WONDERING IF ONE FILE IS MISSED DURING DOWNLOADING IS THIS THE CULMINATION OF WHAT CAN HAPPEN OR WOULD THE MOVIE JUST NOT PLAY AT ALL? OR AM I LOOKING AT A DAMAGED MOVIE FROM ORIGINAL SOURCE. PERIOD?

  2. if there would have been a problem with it
    it would have begun with winrar saying you're missing part of the archive
    but since it extracted entirely

    the situation lies in the actual avi file

    load it into vdub and check the stats
    File -> File Information

    it should tell you
    frame rate etc.

  3. when encoding with tmpgenc select "do not frame rate conversion" under the advanced tab in the settings.
