  1. Hello fellow videofreaks 8)
Can anyone of you guys tell me the best and easiest way to make a SVCD with 2 audio streams in it?

Is bbmpeg the only tool that I can use for that?

And how is the fastest way to prepare the audio sources?

Right now (this is the first time I'm trying this)
I've extracted the ac3 from the dvd during rip process
and converted to wav. But then I found it it has to be mp2?!
So I demuxed my encoded svcd in tmpgenc so I got the mp2
file from the first audio stream. The second one (wav) I converted
using toolame, I guess this is the fastest way to do it, right?
(converting wav to mp2 using toolame)
    Or can I convert the ac3 to mp2 ?

Any ideas from you guys would be great and mean very much to me.
    Thanks in advance

  2. As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

To convert the ac3 to mp2 you do have to convert to wav first, either manually or let the encoder do it while encoding. Yes toolame is probably the fastest and highest quality wav to mp2 encoder. If you want you can use BeSweet to go from ac3 to mp2. Its a gui that combines AZID for conversion of AC3 to wav with dolby surround downmix, SSRC for downsample of 48kHz to 44100kHz, and toolame for conversion of wav to mp2. This way you go through the whole process all in one go.

To multiplex the two audio streams with your video stream you can use bbmpeg, I-Author or TMPGenc. In TMPGenc just use the mpeg tools/multiplex and add all three streams. I recommend you use bbmpeg for multiplexing, I think its output is much more compatible on dvd players than that of I-Author or TMPGenc.

  5. Thank you very much Adam!

Also, do I need to make the mpg just one single file?
Then mux it in bbmpg, and then split it into two files? Or can I make it to 2 files from the getgo?

Right now I've cut the wav files in two, (before converting to mp2) at the same point as where the movie is splitted in half, but it seems like a lot of unnecessary work...

bbmpg doesn't split the audio so that it starts from where it's supposed to when I mux it with the second part of the movie , right?

Once again, thank you very much for taking the t ime to help me out.

Don't cut your files before multiplexing. Not only is it unneccesary but it will probably cause sync problems.

The best thing for you to do is use bbmpeg to cut by filesize. Follow this guide. http://www.vcdhelp.com/bbmpegedit.htm

Load your video and both audio streams. If your using 80 min cdrs put in 790 MB's for your size and for regular cdrs use 730MB's.

  7. Okey, so my suspicions were right. Cut afterwards
    Thanks once again

  8. Just one more question...
This method still let me author the svcd in TSCV right?

Yes. The mpg is no different than any other SVCD compliant mpg so it will still work in any SVCD authoring software.
