I haven't heard of any Dell PC with DVD+R/+RW drive. I guess your drive can write only to DVD+RW, the rewritable media, and not to DVD+R.

Checked the Dell website and they use both the HP DVD200 series DVD+RW and LaCie Firewire DVD-RW for drives. Both do R & RW media. JMB you probably got an eariler version Dell that used the Philips DVD+RW that will record R & RW media.

Kennyshin, I would love to see this electronic miracle you are talking about that will only write to RW media. Who makes it and where can I find one?

  4. Well you can find one at Bestbuy for around 500...its the Philips dvd+rw 200 series. It claims it can read and write to +r but it cant. Now I just posted a message in this forum on how to get the updated drive its self. Just take a look.
