  1. I'm using windows XP - CD-R TDK Clyclone 16/10/40
I'm trying to burn an 820 MB file on a 90min CD/850 MB Data.
No succes "the media is to small - please insert a new Medieum"
I then create a Video Image i Nero (5.5.9.0 with "allow overburning") - the file is then reduced to 722 MB , again No succes - the media is too ......"

    Any suggestions ?

    Regards

    Hello pal,

Does CD-R TDK Clyclone 16/10/40 support 90 minutes CDs? Check the burner's manual and look at TDK's website for possible firmware updates.

Also, have you tried a different empty CD?

    Take care

  3. Anything over 749 meg is going to get that msg from nero. Activate
overburn and ignore the error message. Although your TDK supports
99min media, it will only see it as 80min or thereabouts. This is normal.

As to the filesize reduction.. mode 2/XA (ie: Video CD) burning
allows for approx 100meg extra space as full crc error correction
is removed. This means that a file 0f 800 meg can look like either
700meg or 900meg due to window's file size calcluation methods.
I won't go into the reason for this but it is caused by slack space
in & between files and a problem with windows itself.

  5. i know this matter appears to be resolved, but cdrinfo.com is still a very cool/informative site.

    "- Overburning Tests:
We used 90 and 99min CDs (from Medea International and Copy4All) and using Nero we were able to write up to 92minutes. Both drives stop writing at 93mins so you will not be able to use fully the increased capacity of 99min CDs. The 90min media can be written entirely"
