Hi,
I am new to all this and can someone clear this for me please. I hear and read about Divx compression being so good that it can reduce an empeg file to one tenth of its size with very little quality loss.. then how come it has not replaced mpeg in popularity? If I encode my videos using divx can I watch them on my pc, without recoverting them back to mpeg? If anyone can suggest any reading that might help it will be appreciated.
thanks
