I tried to run the BitrateCalc for compressing SVCD movies. But when I start the program, it tries to install the "JAVA VIRTUAL MACHINE". So far, so good. Normally no problem. But now, Microsoft tells me, that there is no longer an automatical update for "Virtual Machine" under XP. Please help...

Just encountered this one myself (on a different website) on a recent re-install of XP. Not fixed it myself yet but you should be able to find and install a different java VM. Try
