i want to put mpeg video clips onto cd with an interactive menu thing (like dvs have).
so when i put the cd in my computer it launches and comes up with a menu with the clips and when i click on one it plays the clip from the cd (instead of launching my default player on my hard drive). i have looked at the popular software like ulead and roxio but im not sure wich one i need. can anyone help me?

I still consider myself a newbie but I have finaly figured out a system that works (for me). Here is an outline for what it is worth:
1)Burn the CD's with Nero Burning Rom (Buy It). You can create menus exactly as you have described. I found that when I made VCD's the menus were not clickable for some reason. SVCD's end up with clickable menus. I don't know if this is a bug in Nero or some restriction I haven't figured out yet.
2)Play them with PowerDVD (Buy It). I tried playing my SVCD's with windows media player and with my ATI player but they didn't work right.
I have been making my own mpgs with TMPeng (Free version) from AVI's that I captured with Virtual Dub (Free) on my ATI Radeon 7500 video card (Bought). If you are going to use mpgs that you got from various sources there may be more steps before they are ready for Nero (I'm not sure about that).
I hope you find my brief comments useful. If anyone contradicts what I say you should probably listen to them.
Good Luck
