Hi, I'm new to authoring SVCDs, but my first attempts worked out pretty good, no problems thanks to the guides. I have just one problem: Almost every file I convert from DivX to MPEG-2 seems to be corrupt. I convert them with TMPGEnc and burn them with VCDEasy. All the MPEG files are about 770 MB, but VCDEasy burns only a part of them. One file 80, the next 500, but never the complete file. When I add the file to the content-table VCDEasy checks it, creeps slowly through the part that will be burned afterwards und just jumps to the end from the middle or where the error seems to be. The same problem appears with Nero, so it seems to be the file and not VCDEasy.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Sorry for my English, I'm from Germany. Thanks alot!

if when you load the file in vcdeasy(say 700 meg) is its size. then it scans etc. now when it starts to write the actual file to disc,(i.e. wrote 54 of 700mb). is the file size, while writing, the same size as the file you first loaded into vcdeasy? if its different, you will have to re-encode

Mein Deutsch ist weit schlechter als ihr Englisch! As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -
Hey, seems those 9 years of boring english lessons were worth the work, thanks! I'm surprised to find here someone speaking german, where are you from, US or GB?
I re-encoded those files, and surprisingly it didn't help. I tried with 5 different DivX files and almost all were burnt incomplete with VCDEasy. But I tried with Nero again, and tada - no problem at all. I really wonder why the first try wouldn't work with Nero, and I wonder even more why I can produce perfect SVCDs with Nero but not with VCDEasy from the same mpeg-2 file. Now, it works the one way now, so I'm happy.
I only have to solve this "stream writing error" now, but I think I'll try my luck with some repair tools/guides/whatever.
I thank you very much for the help, I'll come back with the next problem for sure... -
