  1. Hi there, I hope someone can help?

I have a vcd film (ET 20th Anniversary Edition) but at the start of the second disk the video "sticks" but the audio continues.

Is there any way I can remedy this? or am I doomed to try & locate another copy?

    Thanks for any help

You start this with "Sticky AVI Video Problems" but then say you have a "I have a vcd film" thats VCD not AVI, which is it ?

If its on a VCD and the problem is playing it in a DVD player, you can load the .dat file for some work.

    Need more info...

  3. Sorry John, let me clarify a little.....

I am actually referring to an AVI file, just ignore the vcd bit, as I havent got that far yet

I just need to know if there is anything I can do to deal with this sticky video problem?

I had thought of cutting the "sticky" bit out? but if I can avoid it, it would be better obviously

    Thanks.

Ok, well that might be bad frames.

Use Vdub and select Video > scan video stream for errors
When its finished it will list any that its found, then you only need to save out another copy to fix the problem

Video > scan video stream for errors
    Video > Direct stream copy
    Audio > direct stream copy

    SAVE AVI (movie2.AVI)

If Vdub gives you problems, download "vdub-mp3-freeze.exe" and use that. It makes a log of the bad frames at c:\badframes.log

Then you can use that log to goto the start of the bad frame (click keyframe back once) and mark as start, goto end of bad frame (Click keyframe forward once) mark as end, press delete

Start at the highest blocks first, then the others wont change.

If that is your problem , other than that you can remove parts you don't want using the same as above (mark always at keyframes) before cutting.
