  1. I had been happily burning VCDs with VCDEasy and a LG CD writer, and playing them on a standalone DVD player. Now I've replaced the CD writer for a Pioneer DVR-A04 DVD writer. Unfortunately VCDEasy won't work with it. It says there is not a driver for this writer.

    Where do I get it?

    Thank you for any hints!

  2. what O/S are you running? are you running the latest version of VCDEasy? (it could be a lot like the Goldenhawk program CD-R Win... one had to update CD-R Win often to make it compatilbie with latest writer devices that hit the market)

btw, may i ask how much you paid for your Pioneer A04? i am looking to get one and have only found sale prices around 300 to 400 USD.

  3. Hello there!
    Thank you for replying.
Well, I'm using the latest VCDEasy (1.1.1).
Besides, so far I could not burn any DVDs. The writer came with a MyDVD software that hangs when transcoding the audio part. Also tried to use it to burn a VCD, but it took forever to encode a 3 minute clip. No use!
Well, I paid a lot of money for the driver because I'm in Brazil and the import taxes here are incredibly high (to pay for politicians' good lives). So in US Dollars it would be something like 730.00. Three hundred box? You're a lucky man!
    Best Regards,
    Marcos,
    Brasil.

  4. I have exactly the same problem with VCDEasy and an A04 burner so you are not alone. I am running XPPro and Ver 1.1.1 of VCDEasy. Have tried every variation on setup within VCDEasy to no avail. BTW, price of AO4 in Australia is about $950AUD = approx $600 US.

I have this same problem - My DVD hangs when transcoding the audio. But if you persist, you can get it to work. 1) Load the movie, MyDVD will work and then hang. 2) exit out of MyDVD. 3) Start MyDVD again and load the same mpeg 2 file again and it'll work like a charm. You have to do this for each clip (very annoying!!!) But you can get a DVD made. Has anyone else run into this problem? Is there a better work-around?

  6. Hi Marcos,

A work-around for this is to save your VCD-Easy project as an image, and burn as an image in Nero
