  1. I have a Sony DVP-S560D standalone DVD player. I have recently bought a Pioneer DVP-7000 standalone DVD recorder. Is it possible to copy a DVD using these 2 devices? I have found info on Region and Macrovision hacks, but get lost in the lingo. If I understand correctly, Macrovision is copyright protection to prevent DVD 2 VCR copying not DVD 2 DVDR. Am I correct? I am willing to purchase any part or firmware to make this happen.

  2. Sorry, but macrovision is just one protection system the other built into ALL DVD Recorder is the "Copy serial mangment system" I found only ONE dvd player that will bypass and still work its a Sampo 631CF for $169 at frys with a $30 rebate, go to www.area450.com to get the "unoffical" firmware hack version 2.1 and burn it on a CD-R Disc, open player put firmware disc in, close player, will upgrade to new firmware, unplug Sampo from wall socket wait 15 seconds plug it back it, put in your original DVD movie that you own so you can make a back up and injoy, I own one Sampo 631CF and a Panasonic DMR E-20 and a Panasonic DMR E-10, don't even use any type of tapes now.

  3. So, if I use a Sampo 631CF standalone DVD player and my Pioneer DVR-7000 standalone DVD recorder, I can copy DVDs? Just clarifying because we don't have a Fry's here and will have to order on. None of our stores here carry Sampo (K-Mart,Wal-Mart,Best Buy,Circuit City). Thanks.

  4. Also, do I have to alter the Pioneer DVR-7000 DVD Recorder, or just the Sampo DVE-631CF?
