  1. I am trying to convert a downloaded AVI file to MPG. When I play the AVI file the Windows Media Player shows the following properties:

    Audio Codec: Morgan Stream Switcher
    Video Codec: Subtitle Mixer
    Length: 01:13:48
    Resolution: 640x352

Now when I try to convert this AVI file with TMPGEnc 2.56.39.143 using the standard NTSC template here is what it says:

    Movie Info: 352x240 29.97 fps / 44100 Hz Stereo / 142 Min 43 Sec
Average Video Bit Rate: 1150 Kbits/Sec
    Audio Bit Rate: 224 Kbits/Sec
    Estimated File Size: 1427.46 MB

My question is why is the expected converted clip 142 min and not same as the original 63 minutes ?. Because of doubling of the clip length the file size is also doubled. How do I make TMPGenc to convert to the original clip length ?

I think this means you have multiple audio tracks in the Divx, obviously TmpGenc is having truble with this.

Extract the audio with virtualdub to an uncompressed wav file (see the guides for more info) and encode with this as you audio input to TmpGenc. No guarantees from me on this but it might fix your problem.
