  1. Can if it's at all possible, tell me in laymans terms how to make
    a copy of a vcd/svcd disk from my cd-rom drive >> cd-write drive
and play in my home dvd player which does play vcd/svcd-cd-r, cd.rw.
I have played a number of films on my dvd player with the help of you peeps
in this format but when it comes to doing a copy of my playable disk the only
way i can find works is using Nero burning rom, this is how i do a copy...

1 In the new compilation i click vcd/svcd (no multiseshion + finalize cd
2 i open the mpeg file in my cd-rom drive and drag the file avseq01.mpg to the new dialog box
3 wait foe what seems to be a long time for it to be anilized
4 when that's finnished i hit the burn icon
5 in the burn dialog i set write speed to 4 and disk at once
    6 burn cd, end

Can you tell me,is there a faster way to do this, like disk to disk

once again i wait in patience for any reply, and a great thanx to anyone that does...

open nero. select "copy a cd" (using the wizard), select "fast copy", select speed (pick 12X or less to avoid any major complacations) and burn.

  3. or get a lite-on 32x burner and lite-on 16X dvd-rom (just got both for $84.07 no tax, free next day delivery) and you can burn at 32X on-the-fly. A full 800MB SVCD takes 3mins 59secs. The LTD-163 lite-on dvd-rom has DAE of 37X so it can sustain the speed. I do it all the time works perfect.

    Now I have 6 lite-on dvd-roms and three 24X lite-on cdrw and three 32X lite-on which I all use to burn on-the-fly.

  4. OK,

I have a similar question. I am trying to make a copy of a SVCD that my friend let me borrow. I try to copy it in Nero using cd copy and it fails on me because of two reasons:

    1 - 754 Meg and I am using 80 minute cd (700 Meg)

2 - Message that it is copy righted and do I want to continue.

    Thanks

SVCD is burned in mode 2, which allows you to fit over 800 MB on a 80 minute CD. yes you want to continue...otherwise you'll never get the disc copied if you don't burn it
if you still have problems, I would try using clone cd to copy
what are you askin' me for...
    I'm an idiot!
