sorry if this is in the wrong section, i dont know where it should go so i thought i put it in the newbie section. Currently i dont have any aspi installed on my comp because i experienced some problems with it before. The problem is that b4 when i use aspi smart ripper rips dvds at a speed of .1x and .01x. Probably had something to do with PIO and DMA option of the cd drive. I had to format my computer a few time to fix this. Dont know how i fixed it but smart ripper rip faster now, about 2x. Also i notice that vcd easy making the .bin file takes very long time too. I saw it report no aspi on the bottom right corner. So i just wonder will smart ripper rip faster or atleast the same speed now if i install the latest aspi layer. Also will easyvcd work faster if i install aspi? thanks alot.

A working ASPI layer will not make your computer faster but will make
your IDE drives work properly.Try "ForceASPI" you can find it at sourceforge.com -
i'm searching the site for it. But just out of curiosity what this do? how is it differ from the aspi from adaptec.com? thanks for the infos

It installs basically the same thing. The difference is that the Adaptec installation sometimes doesn't install properly.
