  1. Im trying to convert a movie (donnie darko) to mpeg. But before it began to decode it said it was overtime. Is there anyway around this? Can I still burn it? Please someone help me. Thanks.

  2. I am guessing that your are trying to burn it directly to some type of CD format (VCD, CVD, SVCD) when you say decode. The reason I say this is that none of the software I have used when converting a file from something to MPG has ever said that is was overtime. I did, however, get it when I tried to burn it to CD using Nero.

If my assumption was correct, your CD burner does not support overburning (sometimes you can get away with a little over, but only by a few meg). What you will need to do is either reecode the file using a reencoder (like TMPGENC) to make it fit under 70 minutes or break the file up between 2 CD's, which is a bummer since it sounds like it is barely over the mark.

  3. I'm not too sure I understand your question..

Have you ripped this from DVD?

If so, you'll want to check this guide..

The newbies guide to fitting a movie on one CD using TMPGEnc

remember you should be able to get just under 80 minutes of VCD-standard MPEG-1 on an 80 minute CDR.

if you're using VCDeasy to burn your discs, you'll need to re-multiplex your mpeg file (if you decide to use the VCD template as seen in the guide above) -> File Menu -> MPEG tools -> Simple Demultiplex.

select the Type as MPEG-1 Video-CD (non standard)
