  1. Hi !

I want to convert my SVCDs to CVDs - pls don't ask me why...

I get the mpeg 2 files off my SVCD with DVD2AVI.
I save the project and convert the project with VFAPI.
I open the dummy-vfapi-avi file with Virtual Dub 1.4.8.
    I apply filters (resize).

When I want to click "start frame server" Virtual Dub crashes!!!!!

    Please help me! PLEASE!!!
    Med.

P.S.: If I load a regular avi I can frameserve without any troubles!!!

  2. I'm not sure I know why you are doing what you are doing, why not just use DVD2AVI and re-encode the file in TMPGEnc to CVD ?

  3. Hi Sefy !

The solution to my problem seems to be that I didn't close
DVD2AVI after saving the project. Anyway now it works 8)

The reason why I use VD and CCE is that I think (/thought if
you do convince me ) VD's Resize filter is better than
    TMPGEnc's and CCE's mpeg2 encoding is crispier than TMPGEnc's.

However, when it comes to VCD/mpeg1 I always use TMPGEnc!

    Thanks for your reply!
    Med.

SVCD to CVD has a lot of quality loss! Ain't worth it if you ask me...
If you have the source, do it all over again...

  5. Hi !

Yeah, Quality loss is indeed a Problem but unfortunatly
I recorded over and over again on my miniDV tapes.

(Either I should go less often on holidays or I should buy
more tapes . From now on I make only CVDs. so
I can go and pack my bags again )

    best wishes,
    med.
