  1. Just got a HP DVD+RW 200i recorder and went to burn a test DVD-Video onto a rewriteable disc but Nero has the finalize disc box checked and grayed out. Obviously the point of a RW disc is re-use so I don't want to ruin it by finalizing it. I know that the "preferred" way of burning audio and video discs is to finalize them, but I can burn audio CDs and VCDs onto RW discs w/o finalizing them and they will play fine. So, is there no way to do this in Nero or if not what about a different app. Thanks!

There is no "multisession" mode for DVD-Video. Hence, the checked and greyed out box.

You are also confused as to what "finalizing" actually does. It does NOT make your /RW unusable (or "ruin" it, as you said). If you want to reuse it, just erase the disk (at least this is how it works on the standard -RW disks).
