I've reicently bought a used vcd player, but was a few cables short so i used an audio coax cable as the (yellow) video cable (its the same kind).
Ive hooked up the audio with a 'double audio coax to jack' cable, but accidently plugged the jack into the headphone socket of the TV. But they are both audio output ports!
Problem:
VCD played for about 30 seconds before the tv jumped into Stand-By mode, and wouldnt wanna snap out of it. When i unplug the TV, the stand-by led keeps burning for about 10 seconds, same when i turn it off with the power button. It never did that before though.. Also, when I try to get it out of standby, i hear a flashing sound, as if it tries to turn on but cant due to the lack of power or something.
Its an Aiwa C201, one of the older models (had it for like 5 years), without a scart port, and only a single (mono) audio in/out and a headphone output.
Whats the problem? I thought it wasnt possible to 'blow up' a tv with these kind of cables?
I really need some help please, I don't have the money for a new TV![]()
Thanks.
