I am trying to play VCD`s in my standalone player, The problem being that it won`t read the disk.
I have checked in the compatability section and this player does take VCD`s, Could it be the CD-R media that i am using or do you know if i need a hack
Thanx in advance.

Hello, i was have the same problem. The solution is bellow.
1. Power on the player with no disk in the drive
2. Press "PAUSE" on the remote
3. Enter "1472" on the remote (the characters 01 47 should appear on the display)
[If your player is a non UK model, this number will probably be different - don't worry]
4. Press the UP arrow three times (the characters 04 Fd should appear on the display)
[This number may be different depending on the configuration of your specific model - don't worry]
5. Press "PROGRAM", "6", "PROGRAM", "5" (the characters 04 FE should now be displayed)
6. Press "ENTER" (the display should flash briefly)
7. Press "RETURN"
8. Power the player off and then back on
9. Play a VCD!
· If you are having trouble getting the hack to work, try pressing "STOP" on the remote before you press "PAUSE" for the first time.
· The above hack will also enable the 5.1 Speaker Setup menu which is of no use on players which do not have an in-built Dolby Digital decoder (e.g. DVD-3000E and DVD-4730). Therefore on these players perform the above procedure but exchange steps 4 and 5 for:
4. Press the UP arrow three times (the characters 04 9C should appear on the display)
[This number may be different depending on the configuration of your specific model - don't worry]
5. Press "PROGRAM", "4", "PROGRAM", "5" (the characters 04 dE should now be displayed) -
I have used this hack & got all displays to which i assumed the hack to be successful, But i still cannot get Vcd`s to read.
The Vcd`s i`m using work fine in a REOC player & i have tried using Cd-R & CD-RW
Any ideas
Thanx in advance

I used the hack, and everything went right.
The problem is that right now I have serious trouble when I use the component video mode. It means that my DVD is not working right with this hack.
I need to know how to get everything normal now.
