  1. does anyone know how to treat scractched cd's (vcd to be exact). well, the scratches on the cd caused my PC not to recognize the cd at all (it do hang and/or not be able to read at all). the scratches are not deep and i can tell that it can still be treated.

i've already tried using toothpaste, but it seems that it only added more scratches.... help!

  2. I have heard of some using turtle wax, but I wouldnt try it. I would get a kit that repairs scratches. Or, if its just one disc, go to your local music store or where ever sells cds and they should have "scratch repairing wipes" you just wipe them on the area and buff the scratch away.

  3. make sure when u wipe the cd u go from inside to out...DO NOT go in a circular motion...i've never heard of turtle wax but it's the same principle as toothpaste, and i've never had to do either... the only way i ever clean cd's is warm water and a lint free chamois or something. don't use paper towel, toilet paper, etc... you may want to use an app like isobuster or blindwrite. they may be able to extract the important data....i'd recommend blindwrite/read.
