I know that this is probobly not the right place to be asking this question, but at the same time I know that somebody who knows the answer will run across this question sooner or later.
You know when you download files off of kazaa? Well, what are all those extra downloads that show up in my folder? They just say "downloads" and they are huge and take up way too much room. Are these neccesary to make my machine function properly? someone lat me know please, so I can delete them as soon as possible without worrying about what is going to be screwed up!
Thanks,

Unless you have stripped Kazaa of spyware from Sharman Networks or downloaded Kazaa lite then you have probably been the victim of spyware downloading from Altnet.
Altnet is actually both a software program and the access point to a parallel peer-to-peer network that runs concurrently with KaZaA. Only the Altnet network will distribute Altnet content; KaZaA uses the FastTrack network to share its files. Altnet is independent of KaZaA and could function even if KaZaA or the FastTrack network is shuttered, Bermeister says.

you mean like names like download103848393893894.dat? They are downloaded files that arent done yet. Go into Kazaa and into transfers and they should be there. And then try to complete them. Or go into My Kazaa and and withing like a minute if they are complete, they will change back to their true file names.
yes you can delete them but you are deleting things you downloaded. Like movies mp3 whatever, they are just a temp name until the download is done.
