When I take svcd from cd to the hard dive using Vcdgear (Fix errors checked) then join them together using TMPEGnc all goes well but at some points in the movie I get what I can only describe as a sound spike like a sharp sound and some times the picture blocks up in certain parts of the screen at the same time.
Has anyone had the same problem and know how to fix it? Any comments welcome![]()

Hi !
Older versions of TMPGenc had this problem with the MPEG tools section.
Try the latest version ... should be fixed now.

I have seen the same problem with Merge in MPEG tools - and I'm on 2.54 as well. It's rare, typically a high-pitched squeal or beep that lasts for about 1/10th of a second at the point where two files were joined.
I downloaded 2.55, but never got around to using it before 2.56 came out. I tend to put off using new versions until I need to encode MPEG-2's, because of the trial period. Now that I have 2.56 in the hopper, I can try 2.55 without losing anything.
