After playing the VCD sample downloaded from this site (the Michael Tam one) on a Sony DAV S300, I was able to play the PBC "error" track and see the warning screen.
The warning states that this screen shouldn't be seen, and that Playback Control should be turned on. Playback control is on by default on the Sony DAV S300, verified by pressing the display button, which shows "Play Video CD PBC". There is no other PBC setting on the Sony DAV S300.
The only problem I have seen that may be related to this is when I use the return button to go back to the main menu. The screen in messed up with the top scrambled, and the bottom flickering. This clears up as soon as the main menu track starts over.
Are these two things related?
Is there any concern over this Playback Control warning?
Thank you.
