I recently tried encoding some interlaced material captured at 480x480 and compressed with Huffyuv 2.1.1 in CinemaCraft 2.50. I followed the guide available here for encoding DivX AVIs using that program, making concessions for the difference in source material where necessary. It all works perfectly, and I burn the muxed MPEG file with VCDEasy, and pop it into my standalone DVD player. The resulting video is very jumpy, mainly when the camera moves (it is a home video). This happens both on the player in my bedroom (an Apex AD-500W) and the player in the living room (an Apex AD-5131). Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix this? I appreciate any input.
P.S. What is the deal with CinemaCraft Encoder anyway? Why does everyone think it is the best? The results I got, minus the jittery frames, was no better than LSX-MPEG or TMPGEnc as far as block noise, etc. was concerned.

It sounds like your field order is set wrong in CCE.
Under the Video options, check the Top Field First option. If it is not checked, then check it. If it is checked, try unchecking it. Re-encode and test.
