OK - So I'm VERY new! I'd like your opinions on how to get the best quality recording onto a CDR from a file. Which is the best format to download, which is the best format to write a CDR with and wich is the best software to do it so I can watch it on my warfedale DVD player.
I've done an xvcd (I think) using Tmpgenc and nero which was quite good, but I want to get the best quaility possible
Thanks

TMPGEnc is the best, and easiest, to use and better results can only be achieved through experimenting.
You do not say what source video you used as this can make a difference to final result. Best results achieved from DVD rip.
Higher results can be achieved by splitting over a greater number of CDs but this just becomes inconvenient.
There are links through "TOOLS" to various TMPGEnc templates.
