  1. When I created my DVD MGEG2 file and burned it to dvd-r, but I couldn't get any sound from my dvd player while my friend could. Any ideas? Also, what are the cheapest places anyone has seen the dvd-r general media.

  2. Let me guess, you have an NTSC player (not euro/PAL) and you are authoring with mpeg1 layer-2 audio ? And your player doesn't support vcd, but your friend's does ?

If so, be aware that the dvd standard says that players for the NTSC market are only required to support PCM (wave) audio and AC3 (dolby digital). They do not have to support mpeg1 audio.

However, if a player has support for playing VCD's, then it will probably play dvd's with mpeg audio. (since vcd's use mpeg audio)
