  1. I did search the forum for help with this topic, but i didn't find any answers that solved/applied to my problem.

Here's what happens, when i encode using the widescreen settings in TMPGEnc, i get a movie file that has widescreen, but the actual height of the picture is a little scrunched. Compared to the original DVD, the backup's picture height is a good 4 inches smaller. So the widescreen works, but the picture is scrunched, and sometimes it distorts the movie a little because the people, cars, buildings, etc... look really fat and wide (because the picture is not tall enough).
    TMPGEnc Settings:
    Super Video-CD - NTSC Film
    Video Type: Non-interlace
Source Aspect Ratio: 16:9 525 line (NTSC)
Video Arrange Method: Full screen (keep aspect ratio)

I don't know what could be causing this, would changing the source aspect ratio to "16:9 Display" result in any different results? I'm really stumped so if anyone knows how i can fix this, please let me know.
    Thanks!

  2. You could try center custom size. Then you can size the screen to your liken. In tmpgnc go to advance menu select the box for I belive it is called clip frame put a check in the box. then double click to open and you will see a screen. Select arrange video and then select center custom size. Now you can see your video change before your eyes when you mess with the size boxes to increase or decrease your video window.

Click on the advanced tab in TMPGEnc & make sure the source aspect ratio is set to 16:9 NTSC there also.

  5. I checked, then i double checked, and the settings were 16:9 525 line (NTSC) throughout all TMPGEnc settings, so i don't think thats it. Thanks for the reply anyway though.
