I have many mini-DV tapes that I wish to copy over to DVD or CD. Currently, I have an HP CD12i CD-RW for burning and a Playstation 2 as my only DVD player. I have looked through the information on this site and can't decide whether or not to buy a DVD burner for playing on the playstation or a new DVD player that will paly VCD or SVCD and use my current burner. I'm thinking of the latter but would love some expert opinions. Please let me know a good DVD player if you have any opinions that I can use to view SVCD/VCD

A DVD will store much more data than a VCD and will offer so much better quality than a VCD.
I'd recomind the DVD-RW and some certified media. -
