  1. Hi

I've tried every thing this forum and ATI's info base mentioned to solve the MMC capturing problem under W2K, but nothing worked.

My ATI AIW 128 Pro 32MB (AGP) is using the latest official drivers from ATI (5.13.01.3279) and no matter which MMC 7.x version I use (7.1/7.2/7.5) the problem remains the same: I can't capture anything from my VHS for more than a couple of seconds and then the classical "the picture freezes but audio goes on" syndrome hits.

I have used the MMC_Reg_Tool for the 7.5 and disabled Macrovision but nothing's changed.

There are no IRQ conflicts reported, my VIA Apollo chipset has the latest 4in1 drivers installed.

I don't know if it makes any difference but, I have WIN98 on the same PC and the capture process is flawless, but I really do not want to bounce between different OS to do different tasks that -hopefully- can be done under one.

Any help would be highly valued and appreciated.

    Michael.

  2. i think the problem might be that when you disable Macrovision thats only for TV out. you need to go to bestbuy buy sima copy master for $50.00 to kill the Macrovision going in to your ati

  3. Thank you spiderman2k1 for responding.
Does that mean that this is a problem facing every user under w2k?
Any other possible "free" solutions around?

    Thanks again
    Michael.

  4. I had the same problem under Win2K and my dual-processor system (Dual P3-700). Works fine if I disable the second processor.
I'm pretty sure I narrowed it down to the capture driver, but I haven't found a workaround yet.

  5. Thanks Sulik
From your computer profile, I see that you're using XP now. Are you successfully able to capture under XP?

    regards
    Michael.
