My VCD is not playing the last few minutes

First off, I did do a lot of searching on this topic and found a few posts, but never any responses to them.


Anyway, I am playing a VCD on my playstation and it looks very good(IMO), but it just ends about 4-5 minutes too early.

The MPG I created is the full length as I can watch it all the way till the end.

I burn it with no errors but this problem occurs.

Any suggestions as to what the problem is. I'm sorry if this is a common problem and has been answered, but I couldn't find anything.(of course I'm not too bright to start with!)

Your VCD adapter, or actually, your playstation may only recognize the standard VCD length of 74min(650meg CDR). If your movie is on an 80/740meg CDR it may not/can not go past the 74 mins mark if your movie takes up the full 80mins, and therefore not be able to get the last 4-5 minutes.

I have an adapter on my playstation and have NOT run into this problem so this may be kind of a s-t-r-e-t-c-h.

Thanks, but I'm using 74min discs and only put 45 minutes roughly on each disc.

Something isn't working too well obviously.

Anymore suggestions would be much appriciated.

Have you checked the VCD for scratches or smudges? Maybe your Playstation is getting tired and you invest in a CD/DVD rewinder.

My playstation was used pretty well, but I don't think it is overused, since the movie bombs out almost exactly at 5 minutes left on each disc.(i tested last night)

I have seen stuff about having to adjust your laser on a PSX, but I don't want to go monkeying with it without any advice.

I've been having this problem aswell. My VCD card is made by some company called Redant. There website seemed to be in broken english, Like the manual, and wasnt of any help.

Does anybody have any idea what might be happening?
