  1. I'm capturing a video on my main workstation, and sending it to a secondary workstation on the network to split into clips and encode to different formats.

    Here is the process that I use;

    Capture as Mpeg-2 (ATI AIW 128 Pro) - Video has sound
    Split it into clips with DVD2AVI and save project files as Video & Audio files.

    Using the Batch mode in TMPGEnc Using batch mode I recombine the Audio & Video into clips in three different formats MPeg-2 720x480, SVCD, and VCD.

    Some clips have audio, some do not.

    The machine that I'm using to encode has the following equipment;

    600 MHz PIII with 256 Mb RAM, Generic SVGA Video, Soundblaster Live!, DLink - 10/100 NIC. Occationally I'll get a clip with audio, but mostly no sound.

    Please help

  2. Hi,

    Why do you capture as MPEG2?

    Why not capture as MJPEG (high quality!!) and then convert to
    SVCD , VCD ?

    good luck
