Trouble converting audio PLEASE HELP

im having trouble extracting the audio from an avi file. Im using virtual dub. I follow the instructions exactly but an error keeps comming up when i click "save avi". It gives me an error saying

"requested audio compression is not compatible with the input format. check that the sampling rate, and channel count of the input match those of the requested format."

do i need to do something to the source file, if anyone can help i would appreciate it, thanks

I assume you have the audio codec required to decompress the existing audio, if so try this'

Vdub
Audio > Full processing mode
Audio > Conversion > check, 44.1Khz
Save WAV

If that don't work, your missing a codec, download and install the Nimo codec pack

If you think the audio is AC3 then you have to add an extra step. See http://forum.vcdhelp.com/userguides/91588.php
