    Arrgghhhh

right, i have captured my DVAVI file from my dv cam.... and i now have a 735M file... (short sample) which plays in wmp on my pc.
i am using ulead video to capture my DVAVI file (is there any better?)
i am using a template within ulead (i have tried ntsc & pal)

i try to convert this file to mpeg 1 for vcd so i can bak up all my dvmovies and playu em on my dvd player.

i can convert all normal formats fine...(divx/avi/dvdrip to vcd)but this DV AVI just will not work.

Tmpgenc uses the ulead file fine for audio and video source and it gives me the required output (mpg) (i have tried ntsc & pal to match the capture) but these mpg's (once burned to vcd) just willnot work on my dvd player ( it plays all vcds normally) i have tried the burning option with ulead and nero and i get the same result.. the player recognises the disc - gives me total time and tells me its a vcd etc... - but then just sits there!

Am i missing something???!? is there something blatently obvious that i need???? or shall i chuck my brand new firewire card in the bin?!?

i am really getting annoyed now... wasted a whole night and killed loads of cd's...

    thanks in advance!
    Any help is FAAAANTASTIC.. :D

You may have convert it wrong... but Im not too sure. I use Adobe Primiere to capture my DV, then save it to DivX AVI, an dfinally use TMPGEnc to convert to VCD. Complacated but it works! 8)
