help with nero

i was having trouble with nero and with ez cd creator on my computer.so i decided to to take off nero and then i took off ez cd creator and then i added nero back on there.now everytime i go to burn a cd it says buffer underrun.i have tried to burn at 2x 4x and 8x and still the same.i have defraged my comp and still the same thing.i even closed all runnin programs and still the same thing.could me burner be goin bad ?help please

i just got done reinstalling ex cd creator and nero again.on ez cd creator it will only write at 4x.when i tried it at 8x it said buffer underrun.so i tried nero again and it did the buffer underrun thing on 2x 4x and 8x.could my burner be goin bad.i need any help anyone can give me

I think you should save your Windows installation as you can (Ghost image, backup...). After this, you can install Windows as simple as you can (remember to install ATA controllers drivers of your motherboard) and install Nero or EZCD (or both) and try record. If the problem persists, try to install you recorder in another computer to certify where is the problem. You can restore your previous installation.
It's a hard solution, but...
