    Hi everybody,

I've read several posts on the flickering thing, but I didn't find a solution.

I've ripped a Sopranos-DVD and made an mpeg file of one episode. I use TMPGEnc 2.54 pro (as I always do) with the SVCD template for PAL. Average bitrate is ~1840.
I swear, I did nothing different from my usual encoding, but this time I got a 'flickering' througout the whole file. Strange is that this flickering is sometimes over the whole picture, and sometimes it shifts from one single person to another. For example if a person in walking into the foreground, he/she takes the flickering from another person.
What strikes me most is that the file plays perfectly on my PC.
    Any ideas?

    Helpless,

    Caligari

I can't tell from you post exactly what you mean by flickering, but this could be the result of the wrong field being taken first. If this is incorrect, you will see jerky movements on the screen. Is this what you mean by flickering?

I'm not sure, and it's hard to describe (never seen before). Imagine a person walking through a room. Suddenly it seems that a second one (same size, color etc.) standing a few inches beside her. And now imagine that this 'shadow' springs from the right side to the left side many times/second.

If I've taken the wrong field first, wouldn't that flickering be over the whole picture, but not with single people?
