  1. I have ATI AIW card and can capture directly to MPEG1.

For the best quality video, is it best to capture directly to MPEG1??

Or is there another way to capture for best quality.

My DVD player only plays VCD not SVCD that is why I dont mess with SVCD

    thanks

  2. I would recommend to capture as AVI file and then render it into VCD or any format. While rendering choose the appropriate format (like NTSC VCD or PAL VCD). In that format they would have mentioned clearly whether it is VCD or SVCD or DVD and also which type like NTSC or PAL. It depends on the software what you are using.

But rendering may take time but you will get good quality.

    Hope this helps.
