  2. I have the exact same player and so far everything I've played (both VCD and SVCD) work fine. Are the files you are downloading already in mpeg1 vcd compliant format? Most of what I come across is usually in DIVX/Mpeg4 format and needs to be converted to mpeg and then burned to cd with a program like Nero. The only thing I haven't had to convert was a subbed TC copy of Shrek which was in bin/cue format. It worked fine until I converted it to SVCD and lost about 1 minute of audio in the middle. Still working on that one...

yes, like johare said, make sure its vcd compliant. you need to encode it with that player he suggested.. uh.. if that dont work check the cd's.

your dvd player only plays the following types of disc's.
    CDR: all layers.
    CDRW: Black Layer only.
the layer type matters. check that also

  5. I've used TDK 80 minute CDR, Memorex Black CDR and Khypermedia 4x CD-RW's and all work perfectly in my M301. I think the main thing you need to do is make sure the MPG files are complaint with VCD standards and that they are burnt correctly using software which is made to write VCD/SVCD's.
