Personally if you are looking for something cheap that plays anything, then Apex is the way to go. Neither's mpeg decoder is something to write home to mom about, but of those 2, I would say the 1500.

Isn't the 1500 out of production
The 3201 is cheaper anyways and plays just as good.
They both can be hacked to be region and macrovision free, but the 3201 can beupdatd using firmware(I don't think the 1500 has firmware updates)
Hope this helps
VCD4MEWe were all NEWBIES once and the only stupid question is the one that's not asked? -
THe 1500 can be firmware upgraded. Both are good dvd players, but the 3201 is notorious for skipping; however when you do two firmware upgrades, it goes away. The 1500 shuffles mp3s and the other one does not. I sold my 3201 and got the 1500 because of the mp3 shuffle. The 3201 looks classy and the 1500 is more compact and has an ugly green lcd. The 1500 is more popular and has the best reviews and www.nerd-out.com
p.s. If you buy the 1500 make sure the serial starts with a,b,c, or d. These ones are firmware upgradable by cd.
