    i have gota samsung dvd 511 it says on the front it can play vcd's however i have been unable to get it to play any as the screen says it can not play this disc. i have set it up via the handset to be multi region all the time, has any one got any ideas, please help. also does any one know how to make it play cd-r's? thanks

    This machine will ONLY play CD-RW's, sorry

    so what you are saying is that if somebody copies a film in vcd format to a cd rw it will work? I have tried it on cd-r but have had no luck. Are cd rw more expensive to buy?

    CD-RW should work. I used to have this player and use TDK CD-RW's with few problems. They are more expensive than CD-R's but at todays media prices it shouldn't be a problem, esp if you shop around.
