  1. Well I hope someone can help me with this. First off I have access to VPC or to an actual PC if needed to accomplish what I want to do, but of course I would rather not have to resort to that . Secondly please be fairly specific in which apps I would need to use and if there are any special settings that would need to be set. Okay here I go:

I have a downloaded SVCD that is in a bin and cue format when unrar'd. I want to take it and put it in DVD format to be burned to a dvd-r to play on my dvd player which does not support SVCD. The other great thing about putting it on DVD that I would hope to accomplish is the original movie is 4 cds (in SVCD) and I would like to make it one DVD so that the movie plays seamlessly.

I assume this is possible. I have gotten as far as extracting the mpeg file from the bin using CDMAGE for the PC, I got an error at the end about not being able to timestamp it or something, which I attempted to ignore and continue to work with the file but I could not figure out where to go from there. I attempted to load it then into tmpegdec (I think that is what it is called) but it gave me an error about the filetype.

    Thank you for any help.

  2. Hey I was wondering about the same thing. Does anybody know if this is possible and if so what tools would one need to accomplish this? I am using a new imac with a superdrive and would like to try this using OSX if possible. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

[a] Extract the MPEG file from the BIN file using VCDGear for OS 9 (not yet available for OS X).
[b] Demultiplex the MPEG video from the MPEG audio using bbDEMUX (same app works in 9 and X).
[c] You'll have to re-encode the audio to 48kHz if it is in 44.1kHz format. If the video resolution is SVCD standard, it will have to be re-encoded to either 720x480/576 (not recommended), 352x480/576 or 352x240/288.
[d] Import the demultiplexed streams into your DVD authorware and create your DVD-Video files.
