I have a WinTV Go card and I just upgraded from Win98 to XP. Before upgrading, I got the new drivers from the Hauppauge website, then installed them per the instructions after XP was working. However, the new drivers don't have a capture function and they tell you to use AMCap for capturing. AMCap seems to be very quirky, sometimes it displays, other times it doesn't, you can't set the channel and close it without it defaulting back to 4.
I can view and get sound ok with the new driver, but VDub doesn't capture sound. The line-in is checked on my mixer recording control, i don't think that this is the problem. Is there another program besides AMCAP I can use to activate the card for VDub? Or is there something else that I'm missing?
Sorry if this has been addressed before.

If you dloaded the latest drivers they are WDM drivers. VDub does not exactly support WDM drivers well. I also have a Hauppauge card and am running XP what I did was to dload and install the Win2k drivers. This allows you to use VDub or pretty much any other capture program you would like to use. Hope this helps.

btwincap.sourceforge.net has a WDM driver that will allow that card to work with virtualdub under XP. It gives access to more of the cards features than the drivers from hauppauge.
