I got a question, I have all the BMP files but no Subtittle file.
I still have the IFO and VOBS file of the DVD so I tried Subrip but when I look at a preview the subtittles are something like this Harry Potter 000001.bmp. Is this normal or did I do something wrong

It is OK if you are going to create SVCD subtitles. More details please.

Well I started ripping the DVD with DVD2SVCD and it made all those BMP files but no sub file. But I found a way to get the subs ,the prob I get now is when I try WinSubMux to mux the files I get errors saying
*** Stream #0: Image too large (encoded size > 64k), skipping line: 9 ***
And so on. This is the only prob I have now. Yes I'm trying to convert to SVCD, already have the MPEG2 ,only need the subs now
BTW I just read some threads and some say that you can't cut your movie file after muxing the subs. If you do, the subs will be gone. Is this true??? -
I found the prob with WinSubMux, the only question is now about those subs, are they really gone after cutting. (I used selectable subs)
And if I need to make permanent subs what would you recommend. Because VD gives my a pack error or something (I think my movie is to big 3GB or is it because I have to demux it again) -
Since MPEG "cutting" is nothing else than a demux / remux process, maybe you would loose the subtitles. I did not proof it. Just edit it before and then the very last step is the sub mux.
VirtualDub can not open MPEG-2. If you want permanent subtitles, you have to reencode. Here I suggest to frameserve( and edit) with dvd2avi and Avisynth to the MPEG encoder. -
Thanx alot
It works now
BTW I tried cutting the one with selectable subs and it's true they are gone .I burned them and played the movie on my standalone DVD player and could choose the subs but you can't see them
I was just wondering, how could I be able to add selectable subs to the movie after I cut it. Don't the subs all have a time and if I cut the movie won't every part start from 00:00:00 wich would make the subs always start from the beginning? -
I don't know how to do it with DVD2SVCD (vob2sub?), but if you rip the subs with subrip, you can split the script (*.sub).
